The new Samsung LED Television

With amazing picture quality and slim breadth, the new Samsung LED TV are a whole new species of TV. But what is the difference between this and the more conventional LED and is it worth the extra dosh?

with basic LED TVs, the image is rendered by a continual fluorescent lamp which enlightens the picture onto the screen. The only problem with that method of image reproduction is that the lamp is normally too brilliant to show proper black pictures and can include unwanted colours in the image which are hard to filter without reducing screen brightness.

With LED or Light Emitting Diodes, each single LED converts electric energy directly into light making a awesome improvement in contrast and colour.

So by using leaner lamps and a skinnier diffuser sheet, Samsung LED Televisions are not only more likely to make the hot visuals so many movie devotees crave, they are also 70% thinner than equivalent fluorescent telly sets! And given that Samsung have place the LEDs about the outside of the screen and direct them inward, the size of their first LED model is just 29.9mm thick… which has to be viewed to be believed!
